TROPICAL RAINFOREST
Location
The distribution of T.R. across the globe
Tropical Rainforest biome is located in several countries not far from the equator, typically between the latitudes 28 degrees north and south (between Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn).
Some major ones are:
- South and Central America: Amazon Rainforest, Atlantic Forest, Central American Atlantic Moist Forest
- Africa: Atlantic Equatorial Coastal Forest, Ituri Rainforest, Kilum-Ijim Forest, Madagascar Lowland Forests
- Asia: Sulawesi Lowland Rainforest, Borneo Lowland Rainforest, Palawan Rainforest, Harapan Rainforest
- Australasia and Oceania: Daintree Rainforest, Huon Peninsula Montane Rainforest, Hawaiian Tropical Rainforests

Climate
Since this biome is located near the equator, this biome enjoys a nice 20 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius temperature range. The reason being is that the sunlight strikes the biome at a higher angle, which results in intense and more direct heating of the land. Also, as the names suggests, this type of forest receives a lot of precipitation in the form of rain. In a year, this biome could typically receive between 200 cm and 450 cm.
Wildlife
This biome is believed to contain the largest biodiversity of life species on Earth (at least half the species on Earth).
Vegetation:
As mentioned before, tropical rainforest contains the largest biodiversity of life species on Earth. With that being said, a 10 km square of region could have up to 750 species of trees. In return these trees could support thousands of insect species. The dominating plants are large, broad-leaves trees.
Animal:
Tropical rainforest is home to one of the largest biodiversity of life species on Earth. The proud animals that call this biome their home ranged from tiny insects to large and fierce predators, to agile herbivores. Some examples of animals that inhabit this region are anacondas, bats, gorillas, orangutans, jaguars, tigers, butterflies, dragonflies, and piranhas.
